Why the “Choose Life” Conference?
When harmless workshops become an ideological manifesto
One day I attended lectures about how to rest effectively. It was a half-day conference in my city — free of charge, organized by a foundation with support from the city of Gdańsk. It seemed innocent: topics about relaxation, life balance, and slowing down in everyday life.
But right at registration something unexpected happened…
Unexpected content at the entrance
On the registration table there were various laptop stickers. A smiling volunteer encouraged people to take them. When I looked closer, I saw slogans like “Abortion is OK”, “Abortion for everyone”. I was surprised and confused. I didn’t come for a pro-abortion rally nor for an ideological event. I signed up for workshops about rest, and the content I saw was completely opposite my values. I felt drawn into something I absolutely didn’t want to participate in.
Still, I decided to stay and see how the rest of the event would unfold.
Workshops… and a sudden twist
For most of the conference everything was indeed about the announced topic: stopping, caring for yourself, life balance. Nothing hinted at what was about to happen at the end.
In the finale, a young woman — one of the organizers — enthusiastically declared:
“Thank you for coming. I have here a petition — we want abortion to be available to everyone throughout Europe. Feel free to sign it.”
To my horror, the majority of the about 200 attendees quickly lined up to sign it.
Later, I found out that the young woman was from a pan-European organization supporting access to abortion, “My Voice, My Choice.”
Shock, sadness, and anger
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Hundreds of people, without deeper reflection, signing a document that, in my view, is a death sentence for unborn children. I felt deep sadness, anger, and helplessness.
I realized how loudly and uncompromisingly pro-abortion environments promote their philosophy — often aggressively — and how little voice Christians have in reminding that biological life begins at conception, that God is the Giver of life, and only He has the right to decide its end.
Truth and grace must go together
For believers, we must speak about this. But it is equally important how we speak about it.
If you have had an abortion and carry that burden, God’s grace is greater than that sin. Forgiveness, healing and a new beginning are possible.
“Choose Life” — a response of heart and faith
That’s why on March 21, 2026, I want to invite you to Gdańsk to the “Choose Life” conference.
The inspiration for it comes from both personal experiences and God’s words from Deuteronomy 30:19:
“I have set before you life and death… Choose life, so that you and your descendants live.”
💡 What the phrase “Choose Life” means:
- choose life with Jesus, because Jesus is Life,
- choose life when you stand at the edge of despair,
- choose life when you are considering abortion,
- choose life when society normalizes euthanasia.
During this conference the focus will especially be on pro-life protection, showing God’s perspective, real help, and hope.
Conference program includes:
- biblical talks about life and God’s forgiveness,
- practical help for women in unplanned pregnancy,
- deep personal stories of life choices,
- discussion panel,
- photo session “Choose Life”,
- evening of worship celebrating the Creator of Life.
It will be a day full of hope, healing, encouragement, and celebrating life — on the first day of spring. (dziewczynysiespotykaja.pl)

Why This Meeting Matters
The “Choose Life” conference is a response to the culture of death, the falsehoods about the beginning of life, and the trivialization of the consequences of abortion. We want to speak the truth — but always combined with grace. Our aim is to strengthen believers, remind them of God’s promises, and show that hope still exists.
As long as we have the freedom to speak about this — we cannot remain silent.
